This will probably be a pretty long post as I try to cover a lot of things at once! I’ll attempt to explain the latest redesign, talk about Ustream.tv’s new iPhone application, and mention a serious article by Ryan Austin Dean.
The Redesign.
As you can see, I’ve redesigned this site once again. I apologize for going in a different direction so shortly after the last switch, but it was necessary. About 15% of visitors to this site access it via their iPhone, so I made an optimized version of the site specifically for those highly intelligent people! Simply using an iPhone will raise your IQ by at least 15 points.
While it’s not as colorful or dynamic as the last design, it is definitely much more functional and readable. Black text on a white background will never fail! The design also has a few additional features (rotating header images, full-text RSS feed, and a few other smaller things).
A minor but noticeable change is the comment structure. New comments are now placed above other comments (like Facebook) instead of below them. Anyone can now respond to a particular comment (threaded comments).
Ustream.tv App
Ustream.tv is officially the first company to offer a LIVE streaming video app for the iPhone. While it only works when connected via WiFi, it is an amazing example of what an iPhone is truly capable of doing. In addition to watching live shows, you can also view video archives and participate in the stream’s chat rooms.

I know you probably don’t read this blog for life lessons or inspirational thoughts, but I think some of you might really like this article by Ryan Austin Dean. He simply writes his thoughts about the role (or lack thereof) of children in our society, referencing the following video.
One of my coworkers at a previous job, who I befriended, was convicted of negligent homicide of a toddler. Being close to that situation, his article really hit me head-on. As Ryan says,
“…it’s not quite ‘manly,’ but if this story does not at least come close to bringing you to tears, then I’m not sure you’re all fine and dandy inside.”
