  • That's just awesome Matt! Thanks for adding Blogussion a few times there, appreciate it.

    I hope I'm not imposing here, but something else that may be a valuable Thesis resource could be my "Thesis Thursday" series at my other blog - http://asnio.com/thesis/thesis-thursday/. :)

    <abbr>Alex Fraiser’s last blog post..There’s this thing called DailyBooth</abbr>
  • Alex, since the popularity of this post skyrocketed so quickly, I guarantee you I'll soon make a followup to it... And I'll include links to Thesis Thursday for sure!

  • This list very useful, thanks for your time gathering it.
  • Wonderful list of resources! Thanks so much for putting all this in one place.

    Add another name to your Thesis designer twitter list: @hitthosekeys (Also featured on the DoubleMules blog as a Thesis Designer).

    My approach is somewhat different than some of the others out there. I take on a very small number of clients yearly, but do very detailed and personal customization. For those wanting a hybrid site (some portions static; other portions bloggy), Thesis/WordPress is the primary content management solution I offer.

  • really awesome article, i really appreciate your efforts for sharing for such nice information.
  • Wow, I had no idea there were so many resources for Thesis. Bookmarked and will definitely be coming back to have a closer look when I buy thesis (still waiting for a coupon!)
  • Thank you for this great set of resources, The Thesis theme is becoming more intriguing to me and a couple of friends have utilized it with some success. I may have to take it for a spin. This will be really helpful to maximize the experience.

  • Thesis is great theme wordpress!
  • I'm going to pull my hair out. I found instructions for using a different background image at the top of my page from the one at the bottom. The code -- CSS 3.0 -- seemed simple enough:

    url (location of top image), url(location of bottom image);
    background-position: top right, bottom left;
    no repeat twice with comma between as above

    Added it to my custom stylesheet, thereby replacing my old background image. Refreshed the page. Looked great!! In CHROME.

    However, my new background images do not show up in Flock or Firefox. I have tried everything for the past more-hours-than-I-care-to-admit. NOTHING.

    I've tried using the after and before html hooks, as well as the after footer which works but places the image far down the page rather than next to the footer where I want it. And I can't figure out how to adjust the padding to stop that from happening.

    MATT, I'M DESPERATE. Can you assist me?

    Thanks so much in advance.

  • Unfortunately, since CSS 3.0 isn't officially accepted yet, the only browsers that will display that correctly are the ones built on WebKit (Chrome and Safari) and Konquerer. It does suck, but it is what it is...

    What you are trying to accomplish could be more easily done if you switch your Thesis site to the fullwidth framework. You could then edit the header and footer separately and insert the two images.
  • Thanks for compiling this list! It's tough trying to get all of the information about the hooks and tricks involved in giving Thesis a more customized look as opposed to straight out of the box one.

    Keep going please!!
  • Esteve, thanks a lot! I know you'll absolutely love it!
  • This is an awesome list (and how cool that I can sign in via twitter -- never seen that one before!) but I thought you'd like to know that a lot of your links under Awesome Thesis Mods/Skins (For Download or Purchase) are broken.

    Good stuff, though, thanks for this. Just bought Thesis this week and am having fun setting it up.
  • Took a while, but all of the links should be fixed as of today!
  • DYNAMITE!

    Thanks Matt, I'm actively using this list whenever I need to make tweaks to my Social Media Commando site. Thesis first attracted me by the ability to make simple (or not-so-simple) changes and updates on the fly, but life would be much more difficult without guides like yours.

    Cheers!
