Crazy Awesome Time Lapse Video

by Matt Langford on April 6, 2009 · Comments

This video is one of the coolest examples of a Time-Lapse Photo/Video that you will ever see! Keith Loutit filmed/photographed this entire sequence in cooperation with a helicopter rescue service.

Time-lapse photography is a cinematography technique whereby each film frame is captured at a rate much slower than it will be played back. When replayed at normal speed, time appears to be moving faster and thus lapsing.

Let me know what you think about it!

  • Dude...freakin' coolest time-lapse video I've ever seen. I'm not kidding when I say THANK YOU for posting this. Instantly favorited. It looks like they were using a tilt-shift lens for all this.

Additionally, Vimeo kicks YouTube's little corporate shill butt.

  • Ryan Austin Dean, Glad you liked it... I was very impressed! It was definitely a tilt-shift lens -- those things are so cool!

And I agree, Vimeo's quality and presentation is way ahead of YouTube...
  • Awesome video! Thanks for sharing.

A-mazing! I like this post best (at least out of the 3 i've looked at) =)
  • Brian Fegter and Tiff, I'm glad you both liked the video! The guy really is incredible!
  • That was pretty awesome... Vimeo does have some great, HD videos. Now if I were only willing to pay the $60, I would upload some of my own. :)

  • I agree, but you can still upload 1 HD Video per week with the free account... If you don't have a whole collection to store, but just one to show off, the free account is fine!
