Growing with MattFlies.com

Over the past few months, I’ve put together quite a few articles, tutorials, and lists for the Thesis Theme community. As you can tell by looking in my sidebar, these posts are by far the most popular on my blog.

Since I started focusing on Thesis, My Technorati ranking has jumped a few MILLION spots. Additionally, my posts have been ReTweeted nearly 700 times (many thanks to @copyblogger), saved on Delicious nearly 500 times, and Stumbled 100 times. I received my first AdSense check and my first Thesis Affiliate check as well. I’ve even received nearly 4,000 spam comments! Exciting, right?

I’m approaching the 200 RSS subscriber mark, I’ve doubled my Twitter followers (with no crazy Twitter schemes or programs), and my blog traffic has increased every month for 5 consecutive months!

I’ve spent exactly $0 on advertising. I’ve depended solely on word-of-mouth and links from my fellow bloggers. Of course getting multiple links on the front page of the DIYthemes.com official Thesis blog (see here and here) never hurts (I even have a listed testimonial)! Other blogs that have sent me healthy servings of traffic are HowToMakeMyBlog, Asnio, and CollegeCandy (non-thesis related).

Basically, I’ve said all this to say THANK YOU! Thanks to those of you who faithfully read my blog, Thanks to those bloggers and administrators who link to MattFlies, and Thanks to those of you who accidentally end up here!

Also, due to the growing popularity of my blog, I’ve decided to *consider* making a single advertisement opportunity available. If you’re interested, let me know! It could be a traditional text link, banner ad, or a featured post highlighting your product.

  • Wow, congrats. You're one of my fave Thesis experts. I'm always here raiding your helpful howtos. By the way, I love your rant against Facebook quizzes. You're so spot on. :)
  • Haha, thanks! It was a moment of insanity that has gotten me quite a lot of views, replies, and psychologist recommendations!
  • Then the insanity virus is spreading. I swear I would have written the same
thing had I not found your post and your video very entertaining. I even
passed it on to my quiz-rabid friends in Facebook to bait them into writing
a guest post for me on the same subject. A rebuttal of sorts. :)
  • Wow! That's great! Let me know when the post (more than 1?) gets published as I would definitely like to read and comment (don't worry, I'll be civil).
  • Congrats Matt!! This blog certainly deserves it. Your writing style is cool and contents are awesome!
    Keep going
  • Congrats, Matt!

    Well deserved. :)

  • Congrats, Matt! You have an excellent blog. As someone who is new to the thesis community and new to coding XHTML, CSS and PHP, you have been tremendously helpful. Keep up the great work!

  • Your tutorials are excellent, so you really deserve all the kudos. Your tabbed widget one was extremely useful, as was the list of Thesis resources.

    wtg matt!
  • Congrats bro. I also found you when searching for thesis theme tutorials.

    Great job !!
  • Congrats! You deserve it. You have been very helpful.
  • At least I've tried to help! Haha, we've definitely had some interesting (albeit frustrating) moments haven't we? =)
  • Congratulation Matt. It's always interesting to hear why and how someone is working to get more visitors. In this case it's almost all about great content, and of course Thesis. Looking on your number of subscriptions it actually a great method to see if you write quality content.

Again, congrats. I'm looking forward to hear more about your blogs development in my reader.
  • I totally agree with your number of subscribers point! A higher number gives one more authority, in my opinion. Thanks for visiting!
  • Congrats, Matt! This all must be really exciting. I have been using your site regularly, mostly for the Thesis articles. Nice Job!
  • Thanks! And I hope you continue to return to MattFlies.com.
